Oh dear,
I was thinking it's time to catch up on my blog, I didn't realize that I stopped a year ago. A YEAR!!! That year went quick and there was of course a ridiculous amount of things I would love to keep documented. So here goes the epic entry - no one is obligated to read it (except Shayne).
January
Cole made a Battleship Lego - Pocket sized
Biggest and yummiest burger we've had - and thankful we shared it! We both still say it was the best burger EVER.

Attended UMEA in St George and had a chance for a small hike with my mom and dad.
Taylor and Katie drove from Idaho and we met them half-way in Ogden to see Lego-Batman together. My boys just love that boy - he's a big brother to them!

Laura and Maynrad came in town so she could present at BYU. Love those two!

After visiting Alisa, we drove across Oregon straight to Idaho to Rexburg to attend Taylor and Katie's reception. I didn't take pix, but their cake was awesome. Yup, I only took a pic of the backside - the best side really.
Easter time!
Soccer time, I coached and we had a great little team of friends and even family. I think that was the last chance for Skyler and Rachel to be on the same team. So cute!

And this is the end of Itty-Bitty ball for Skyler. He's going to kindergarten and I only coached to be with my boys. I'm grateful I got to do it - even if coaching 3-4 yr olds is like herding a bunch of kittens!
Skyler did 1 year of Let's Play Music, unfortunately it was a fight to go every week. Mom is throwing in the towel and I hope to find another way to nurture the musical side of Skyler.
Do you know how many Jazz shirts Shayne owns? 29!!! I'm positive he has purchased more since this pic... the number is growing.

Hunter's mother's day present was featured in the District Art Fair.
Cole turned 12. He was ordained a Deacon in our church and I love it when he's passing the Sacrament. My little boy is getting so big! His party was virtual reality experience - it was 100% entertaining to just watch them. My favorite was when Adam started screaming because he thought he was going to fall. This stuff is intense!

Cole used his birthday money to do the big swing at Lagoon - I was not even tempted to do it. Luckily his dad was excited to do it.

Cole's graduation from the Elementary School - I think he's worried about 8 classes in the Jr. High but at the same time, can't wait to get as far away from Elementary School as possible.
Shayne and I attended Julia's graduation. It's fun to be close enough to family to celebrate these big events. She's off to Utah State!
We convinced MANY of our neighborhood friends to do a taste of mountain biking.

We kicked off our summer with a trip to Southern Utah - a place we had never been to - Kodachrome Basin Park. Cole will only remember the bugs, but I remember the slot canyon hike the best. I LOVED that adventure. 4 wheeling in our Mini-van was a little intense, but we got where we needed to go.
This is a hike north of Kodachrome Basin - it ended up being a really tough hike for our little kids. Skyler and Danny were bribed into suffering without complaint, and they did it. We all did. I don't recommend doing this in the middle of the afternoon - the sun was brutal. But the hike back was better with shade.
Hunter is off to Trek! Someday I want to do Trek with one of my boys. I say that... but do I mean it? Hunter made his own knapsack and was very particular so he could use it as an art bag after Trek. Thanks to Aunt Devri for spending the time and patience with him to get it right. I'm grateful he loved Trek, great leaders, great friends, and lots of amazing memories. Leaders told me afterwards that Hunter was a hard worker - what mother doesn't swell up with pride with such a compliment?!??!
Cole went to his first overnight scout camp - he complains about nature but he doesn't complain about his friends.
We decided to paint the upstairs in our house. EVERYTHING. It only took 2 maybe 3 tries to end up right back where we were with a light beige. So much for trying to be trendy with the greys!!!
That's my Great Uncle Mark and Great Aunt Donna - Donna is my Grandpa Raymond's sister. They are 99 I believe. And Mark was stenographer for General Patton in the 2nd world war, his stories are fascinating. They are full of humor, wit, and love - what a treat to celebrate Mark's 99th birthday and their 69th anniversary!

The little boys rode on the float - but my big boys, Shayne and Hunter helped build this! They did the coral reef and the clam in the back. It looked amazing. And the city thought so too - it won1st place!!

Oh - I failed to mention that Shayne is unemployed during this time. He quit his job because it was miserable. Fortunately he finds a job by August, but it sure was great having Daddy around for 5 months! Plus, lots of projects were done.
Redoing our cabinets was a TIME INTENSIVE PROJECT. Shayne spent 2 full weeks - working on it full time and I helped when I could. I wasn't sure it would ever be done! Thankfully it is done and it looks amazing! Well done Shayne!
