Lara's visit

Shortly after we returned from Oregon, La-La came to town.  I took a lot of pics for her - but sadly, not many pics included "US" together.  It was a whirlwind visit - but it's always fun having her in town.  And now it's double the fun with Julia too!  Here are a few pics...

Danny pushing a hand-cart at the Mormon History Museum.

The three munchkins hanging out - I absolutely love all those bows that Julia gets to wear.  Skyler liked them too (he wanted to eat them).

We had an "open house" night for family and friends to come to Lara - since it's impossible for her to go see everyone she wants to see when she's in town.  It was great fun to have everyone here!  This is one of our favorite people in the WHOLE world, Stormi.  She doesn't live in UT and it was one of those lucky moments in time when our paths crossed in the same state - we loved seeing her and Rick!

My great-Aunt Lorrie with Skyler - I love this picture.  We don't get to see Aunt Lorrie very often, but it's always a treat when we do!

Good thing I knew I'd be seeing Lara again in just a few weeks for our family reunion in California - that visit wasn't long enough (all visits are too short, she just needs to move here).

Oregon

Oregon:
deep sea fishing, fish n'chips (almost daily), crab fest, hikes, waterfalls, tidepools, fireworks over the ocean, bonfire, Tillamook cheese factory, ice cream, parade, early morning bike rides, beaches, whales, sea lions, ocean view condos, many amazing meals, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandma and grandpa, and a whole lot of fun!!

motivation...

I was patting my tummy and Danny said,
"Mommy, can I see your tummy?"
what?  I guess so - so I show him a glimpse of my tummy.
"Yup, your tummy is getting old like my grandma's.  My GREAT-grandma's tummy, yeah, it's getting way old."
sigh

Muscles

We recently went boating with a family friend and before getting on the boat, I was smearing on the sunscreen on the kids and then myself.  Hunter was watching me and said very matter of fact, "You must be very strong because the bigger your legs are there (pointing to my calves) the more muscles you have."
I replied quickly,
Yup, it's all muscle and your mommy is VERY strong.

Confessions

There are two cute neighbor girls who are constantly knocking on our door to play with Cole.  Recently, one of the girls mentioned that Cole had asked the other girl if he could kiss her.... "WHAT?  WHERE?"  He asked to kiss her on her hand and they hid behind a bush to do it....  I looked at that cute little girl and said "No more kisses from Cole and I'm going to talk to him too."  Here is the conversation with Cole:
Do we need to have a talk about you kissing girls?
(A sudden look of embarrassment and that look of, of course my mommy knows what happened.  He confesses quickly)
"I'm sorry mommy.  I know I shouldn't have done it and I promise not to do it again.  I know I'm not suppose to kiss till I'm 34."
Well, it's not really till you're 34, but that's close enough.

My Skye

About eating...
When I started you on solids, it wasn't a slow transition - it was a "FINALLY" for you.  Most books recommend maybe 2 meals of solids a day for a beginning eater - but no, you need 3.  And so much for that 1 Tablespoon of food idea.... you eat a bowl-full if not more.  I can't believe your ravenous appetite.  And I still think it's funny that you LOVE those bananas so much.

About you...
You aren't too fond of just hanging out.  Oh, you'll do it for a small window of time but, you'd rather be up and about with mommy.  And it's not about being held either, you just want to see the world.  It looks like you are just soaking in the activity around you and you have that look of "I can do that" in your eyes.  I think when you become mobile, you are going to have me running.

You are trying so hard to be as big as your big brothers...  I'm nervous about how fast you are catching up!

The Birthday Party

Technically, Cole should not have had a birthday party this year... we've decided on an "even year" basis.  Well, Daddy gave Cole a little challenge and the prize at the end was a birthday party - so that's what happened.  This boy is in love with Science, so we went with the science theme and it was a blast!  His neighborhood friends came over (plus his cuzin' Clayton) and we made glow-in-the-dark slime, did a few experiments, and even launched mentos/soda bombs at the end.  And check out that amazing cake, I found the pic online and Shayne made it -- he's AMAZING!
