quick trip to Jackson

Over Labor Day weekend, we went up to Jackson Hole - one of our favorite vacation spots.  Our intention was to get a group site (like we did 4 years ago without any problems) and have lots of space for the kids to play and roam in the woods.  When we arrived at the campground - it was nearly full, only a handful of sites were left.  And absolutely no group sites were left.  Luckily - they found us two sites to be close to Cherae and Chris' family.  Really - we just hung out in their campsite the whole time.  Chanin and Steve also came to Jackson - they spent the days with us and slept in the comfort of walls and heated rooms somewhere near there.  The rest of us braved the cold nights and we survived!  I didn't take very many pix - but here are a few to prove that we went and had fun.  We just love being with our family!!

Skyler wearing Carson's hat

Uncle Chris has my boys WELL TRAINED - they immediately start giving him massages and helping him relax.  EVERY TIME.

Sending off a missionary to Mongolia

My niece, Chyanna, was called to serve a mission in MONGOLIA.  Not a mission you hear about very often, right?  She flew in from Texas and we had a day and a half with her before Grandma and Grandpa took her to the MTC.

We had a family picnic the night before she entered the MTC, and then we did a brunch the next day together - a last meal of sorts.  And it was a smaller group - Grandma, Grandpa, Chyanna, Skyler, Chanin, and myself.  Here are few pics.

As we took this pic, Cheryl pointed out it was them their oldest and youngest grandchild.

The Rivalry Relay

I talked Shayne into doing the Rivalry Relay with me.  This is a local relay that happens in 1 day - you have 6 people (or less for those crazy runners) and you each do 3 legs of the race - grand total is 60+ miles in one day.  It starts at the UofU campus and goes to BYU campus.  We did this race with two couples from our neighborhood - and they are not only great runners - they are AMAZINGLY FUN and FABULOUS people.  It was a very early morning, a long day, and SO HOT.  But, when you're with people that keep you laughing and happy in those conditions - it's all about who you are with!  We had a blast.  I'll do it again - but maybe in two years.  ha ha ha!

Chris came up with the team name - the logo (designed by Shayne) made it a reality.  Here are pics showing our adventure in a mini-van and pounding the pavement.

At the starting line - notice it's dark and this is summer - it was really early.

BTW, our car won the "best decorated car" award... or something like that.  We think it was a pity prize - since they really liked our name the best but for some reason they gave the "best name" award to another team.

TJ did the hardest leg - running up Suncrest.  It's a climb - and he RAN!

I love this view of Nikki running down from Suncrest...

Did I mention it was hot?

Weird Al!!!

I need to document this fun concert with our bigger boys - they loved it!  They are ALL big Weird Al Fans.

Fun in Park City

We love that Grandma and Grandpa invited us up to Park City to have some chill time with them!  We did get a little bike ride in - the 3 of us.  It was a tough one for Hunter - but he did it.

At the resort, I think Danny ran 2 miles just "trying out" the treadmill.  That kid has energy to spare.

Pool Time

We went to the Olympic Park and we did the alpine slide, and 2 rope courses - they were awesome!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a great week!!!
